Healthcare Reform...There is a lot of information in the news and on the Internet relating to Healthcare Reform. We want to give you the information you need, as you need it. We also understand this legislation affects companies differently, part of our role is to sort through the details to help you understand how it affects your company specifically.

Two documents you may find helpful are the Healthcare Reform Timeline and the Small Business Health Care Tax Credit: Steps to Determine Eligibility document. The Society for Human Resources Management has posted an interactive timeline detailing health care reform legislation and implemention.
Millions of small businesses will receive postcards from the IRS beginning the week of April 19 that alert them to the new Small Business Health Care Tax Credit and encourage them to check their eligibility. Even if you don't receive a postcard, your business still may be eligible. Read more about this effort.
Did You Miss the Forum?...The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce hosted a Wake Up to the Issues Forum on the landmark federal healthcare reform law on April 22, 2010. Experts from McNees Wallace & Nurick provided an overview of the impact on the private sector and broader community; and a panel of local experts provided input on the impact to the healthcare and insurance industries.

Mini-COBRA...Act 2 of 2009 is a law in PA that gives employees of small businesses (2-19 employees) who receive health insurance from their employers the right to purchase continuation health insurance after they leave employment.
